Day 3: Wat Xiengthong – Wat Visoun – Kuang Si Water Fall (B/L/D) 0700 Breakfast at hotel 08.00 Sightseeing in Luang prabang tour start from the bench of Nam khan connected with Mekong river at Wat Xieng Thong “Temple of the Golden City”) is a Buddhist temple (vat or wat) Built between 1559 and 1560 by King Setthathirath, Wat Xieng Thong is one of the most important of Lao monasteries and remains a significant monument to the spirit of religion, royalty and traditional art, Wat Visoun, was originally built in 1513, during the reign of King Visoun who ruled the country from 1501 to 1520. The beautiful temple was razed in the 1887 by the Black Flag Army, a band of ethnically Chinese marauders who conquered and sacked much of Luang Prabang. They then left with most of the priceless Buddha images by breaking the stupa. These images are made from jade, gold and precious gems. The temple was rebuilt between 1896 and 1898, during the reign of King Sakkarin Kamsuk (r. 1894-1903). The temple has another historical claim to fame: the famous and powerful Phra Bang Buddha was housed at Wat Visoun from 1513 until 1707 before it was relocated to the Royal Palace Museum. Continue for visiting Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham built in 1796, Wat Mai (New Monastery) was given its present name following the restoration undertaken in 1821 by King Manthathourath. Notice the 4-tiered roof when visiting the temple, as well as the scenes from daily life and the legend of Vessantara on the bas-relief walls. Sightseeing at Ban Xang Khong, it is located about 5 kilometers (3.1 mi) east of Luang Prabang. The Lue peoples of this village are noted in particular for their arts and crafts. The locals are adept at making traditional Saa paper, which is made from mulberry trees. There are several bamboo bridges in the area, and the village can be approached on foot from Luang Prabang. 1200 Lunch at local restaurant with Lao set menus Afterwards, transfer for excursion at Kuang Si Water fall.
